BIOGRAPHY

 

 

      Tommy DeHorney III has performed for audiences in the United States, Italy and other parts of Europe with his rich tenor voice. During his travels and performances, Tommy has had the privilege to sing for and meet many distinguished Opera Artists, Conductors, and Directors around the world.

 

        Tommy made his recent debut with Opera Lancaster as Rodolfo in La Bohème to rave reviews. He has performed other lead roles, starring in the World Premier of the new opera Beowulf in Fort Worth, Texas, and appearing as the cover for Nemorino in L'elisir d'amore with The Living Opera in Dallas, Texas. He was one of the first Americans to sing in Teatro Manicelli with Opera Lirica in Orvieto, Italy where he performed various recitals and scenes from Rigoletto, La Bohème, La Traviata, and Die Zauberflöte. Tommy was invited to perform as a Guest Artist at the Morton Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas, Texas to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday. He has appeared in other various roles, such as Prince Schiusky in Boris Godunov in Philadelphia, and as the Official in Rigoletto with the Fort Worth Opera. Coming up this summer, Tommy will join Opera New Jersey as a Studio Artist in their Summer Festival. Upcoming in April 2010, Tommy will make his debut with "Peter Nero and the Philly Pops Orchestra" in the Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, PA as a Guest Artist in "The Great American Tenor" program. Tommy currently resides in Philadelphia and studies in New York with Mark Oswald and Maestro Gregory Buchalter of the Metropolitan Opera.
